He grew up in a family where music was always around. His mother was a singer and his father had been a jazz musician. Mark's brother was collecting records and listening to pirate radio stations in the early 80'ies, something that really interested Mark and he started buying records too. Some years later, around 1989, Mark got into scratching the records, followed by the art of mixing them, something he's doing till this day. Back in 1995 a friend brought him to the studio of David Spaans, an active producer of electronic music at that time, who had many pieces of vintage equipment. They jammed for some hours and Mark was immediately hooked; within a month he bought his first drum machine. After years of jamming and recording Mark made his debut release on Otto Koppius' Keynote label in 2006, followed a year later by a release on Moustache records, which is ran by his friend David Vunk. More releases are planned for the future, including another one on the Moustache label. Mark is currently working on new music and he will be dj-ing in a club near you soon. |
